Audiovisual education is one of the most effective means of imparting education where particular attention is paid to the audio and visual presentation of the topics that is delivered in the class to make the child retain it for a longer period of time. It is also called as multimedia-based education (MBE).

It has been observed that children learn best when they watch and imitate the behavior of adults like grandparents, parents, uncles and aunts, which helps in the stimulation of sensory organs of a child. Audiovisual material make learning more permanent since students use more than one sense. Pictures, slides, radios, videos, flashcards, toys and various other audiovisual tools are used by teachers and facilitators to teach topics. All these tools are used to develop both the senses of hearing and the sense of sight for overall development of a child. If we see the current scenario, the digital world has grown strongly and exponentially. Educational DVDs, PowerPoint, television educational series, YouTube, and other online materials are few examples. The audio-visual aids doesn’t only help children to build a strong learning base but it also enhance a teacher’s ability to present the lesson in simple, effective and easy to understand way. Nowadays, the teaching-learning process has changed its face with lots of new improvisations and improvements. The most commonly used audio visual aids are the new generation smart classes which includes not only the slides but they are also mapped with the course books which makes the class more interesting, dynamic and effective. Moreover it also helps to introduce new topics in easy way. The use of audiovisual aids makes the students learn and remember the concept for longer period of time. They convey the same meaning as words but it gives clear concepts thus help to bring effectiveness in learning.

One thing which is very important to keep in mind while using these tools is to grasp and hold attention of students so that a teacher can engage children in that particular activity and can deliver key points effectively. If a teacher accomplish that, then learning will occur and children will be able to apply what they have learned.
